Welcome to the team, Christen Clery! Christen is a Commercial Line Account Executive who joined Risman Insurance just two months ago. Her daily responsibilities include reviewing accounts for proper insurance coverage, running quotes, making policy changes, and answering incoming calls. She even adds a fun touch to the office with her witty quips on the phone system!
Christen’s journey in insurance began nine years ago when she started as an administrative assistant in commercial lines. Inspired by a passionate account rep, she sought to expand her knowledge and expertise in the industry.
Although she is still new to Risman, Christen appreciates the supportive and team-oriented culture. From her first day, she felt welcomed, and she enjoys how co-workers collaborate and help each other out.
She brings a positive attitude and an approachable demeanor to her role. Christen values the professional development opportunities at Risman, noting that the agency encourages higher education and offers one-on-one guidance for growth.
A memorable moment for Christen was the annual river cruise, where she saw employees from different offices come together for a day of leisure and camaraderie. Hearing the positive experiences of long-tenured employees reassured her that joining Risman was a great decision.
Outside of work, Christen is a mom to a teenager and two dogs. She loves attending concerts, visiting theaters, and exploring unusual roadside attractions during road trips. Fun fact: locally, you can find the grave of the man who invented the “smiley face,” and “Jingle Bells” was written in a Medford pub!
Her advice for newcomers in the industry? “Take advantage of your peers’ knowledge and experience.” Christen aims to continue expanding her expertise and pursuing additional designations in her career at Risman.
